Michael E. Abbott is elected Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer and continues as President and Chief Financial Officer.  December 1999
American Republic reorganizes under a mutual insurance holding company structure and American Republic becomes a stock insurance company subsidiary of the mutual holding company. American Republic policyholders become members of American Republic Mutual Holding Company.
